there are many games you can play to make money but if you're not making money yet or losing sleep over where your next customer will come from there's only one game you should play: the numbers game I hate cold email and yet am oddly inspired by it because it's a good reminder: whatever it is you're doing, there is always a volume at which it is statistically impossible to not make money

This works for every aspect of life and business. Getting clients, finding a partner, pitching investors, etc… Anyone can do it if they’re willing to put in the work and be rejected 100+ times before they land their first “yes”.
Sure but you also sacrifice any future long term business because I won't do business with you ever unless it's heavily weighted in my favor when you do this garbage.
"but if you're not making money yet or losing sleep over where your next customer will come from there's only one game you should play: the numbers game" you will never fill the hole inside of you
What are some of your favorite tools that you know of or use to do cold emails at this kind of scale? I feel like most are super clunky and annoying to use for automations
Yeah, there's a lot of talk that "generic cold email is dead" thanks to AI. And I guess to some extent it's possible that's true? But I still see example after example after example of effective well written *relevant* cold messages that happen to land in the prospect's inbox
the more successful people i study across niches, the more their success comes down to just one thing VOLUME and it’s almost scary in a good way, at that pace it’s impossible not to win.
The numbers game is why I choose to be active in twitter. Out of all my blabbers, if someone identifies what I'm doing and find it useful, that's a big win for the both of us.
the numbers game part is what nobody wants to hear. everyone wants to be charlie munger but step 1 is just sending the messages. hate cold email too but its hard to argue with the math
“If you’re not making money yet” is the key qualifier. The numbers game is for survival mode. Once you have traction, switch to quality over quantity. But at zero, you can’t afford to be picky about channels.
Sales is a volume game. You have to be strategic about it (right target audience, data backed decisions, customisable cold mails/calls) but it’s still a volume game. It takes less than an hour to call 100 leads for setting up a meeting. With strategic targeting you can reduce
Results don’t care about preference, they respond to volume and precision. The discipline isn’t in liking the method, it’s in respecting the math long enough for it to start paying back.
